The NDIA is deferring the full rollout of PACE. Originally planned for September, it was postponed to the end of October. Now, the NDIA will implement a staged transition, starting in February 2024.
Here's the updated information:
The NDIA is postponing the full national rollout of PACE, initially scheduled for September. This has followed concerns from participants, advocates and providers, it will now begin in February of the next year. It has been welcomed as identifying the importance of system enhancements for everyone involved.
Key details of what we know so far:
Starting October 31, new NDIS plan recipients will have their plans created in PACE.
Also from October 31, existing participants with identified changes or support needs will undergo plan reassessment in PACE.
Between November 2023 and late February 2024, participants with expiring plans will be contacted. Their plans will either be rolled over and later transitioned to PACE (if no changes are needed), or a new plan will be built in PACE (if changes are required).
By the end of February 2024, all expiring plans will progressively transition into PACE-built plans.
Unregistered Support Coordinators and Psychosocial Recovery Coaches
Of particular note you will be required to open a Provider Digital Access (Proda) account to support your customers, once they have moved to the PACE system.
The NDIS is encouraging all those that are unregistered to set up their accounts now in preparation for PACE.
